Luckily I landed a job at Alpine Meadows, a great ski resort about 15mins. from my house. They've got a lot of good terrain, some high speed lifts, and everyone I work with is great. I'm mostly working in the Demo Center, which is a place you can go to test high end skis. We recommend a pair of skis, adjust bindings, etc. The most important part of this job is the free season pass that comes with it.
I'll likely have to start looking for a second job soon however. Despite saving up some money, and accepting some generous donations from family/friends to facilitate my time here I've got quite a few big-boy bills looming. Keep in mind that the regular ski bum rarely carries and insurance policy. Additionally the regular ski bum menu of Easy Mac, and Ramen doesn't quite do it for me. I'll probably try to pick up a night job soon, likely as a cook, since I've got some experience there. I just need to find someone who'll hire me!
Health-wise I'm feeling great. The altitude (6800' above sea level), is tough on my weak lungs, but I feel like I'm adjusting to it well. My legs have atrophied over the past years, but again, they're getting stronger each day as well. In between skiing I'm focusing on staying well rested, eating well, and beginning to train for Ironman. I'm running and riding once a week, building a bit of a base for the heavier training which is to come.
I'll end this post with a pix of the house, I don't have many action shots from the mountain since I'm usually just trying to keep up with all the good skiers out here, but here's a pic of our front yard. Incidentily Our wood pile is completely buried in the snow, and each day we've had to dig down to get to it, which I think is hilarious!
Take Care,
-Jeff

Sounds like you're having a good time! We miss you in the LMAS, but it's great to hear about all the snow and fun on the mountain. Keep blogging so I can live vicariously through you as I start prepping for quals.
