Day +207

This past Tuesday I had my 200-Day checkup. Yes, it's been 200 days since my stem cell transplant, thats 6 months in normal-person-talk. Wow! Time flies! This check-up was similar to others where I get a full blood-work, a physical exam, etc. Plus I got a CT scan, mostly to track some damage I had in my left lung, and see if any of the residual tumors have changed in size, also if anything new has cropped up.

I got the results, and everything looks great. The stuff they saw in my lungs at Day +100 has cleared up, meaning it was probably an infection (pneumonia). I had as suspicion it was an infection, since I've been feeling much better since then. Also there has been no change in any residual tumors in my chest, neck, abdomen and pelvis. This is really good news! I've been feeling good, so I was happy to have some medical confirmation :)

Before leaving I broke the news to Doc Moskowitz that I signed up for Ironman. He wasn't as excited as I was about it, commenting that he's had patients do races, but usually not until much later (4-5 years). He said it's a possibility and will do some lung and heart function tests at my next checkup in early January. So my plan is to take it easy until then, and really work on postive recovery, hopefully in January, with his blessing, I'll be able to start training.

Again, thanks to all you guys for your continued support, I wouldn't be here today without you!

-Jeff
