It's still snowing...

...and I can't go outside, so here's some cabin fever rambling.

Had another visit to the doctor's office this past Tuesday. They did the normal blood work, and screening, and things look good. In fact it was rather busy at the office, and since I didn't have any new questions or problems I only saw the doctor for about 3 minutes. Hard to justify a 3 hour drive for that, but better safe than sorry. I miss the convience of having the cancer center a 15 minute walk from where I work in Berkeley, but the good news is that as I continue to recover the visit's get fewer and farther between. I'll head back down in another 3 weeks, then again another 3-4 weeks for restaging.

Otherwise things are quiet. I'm enjoying my recovery with plenty of reading, lots of walking, and lots of cooking. Since I'm not allowed to eat any meals that aren't fully cooked and prepared by me, I've had to learn to cook. I'm not very good at it, but we have a cool natural foods market within walking distance from the house, so I've been experimenting with lots of different stuff. It's been fun to pass the time with too.

I'm also looking for some more reading material, specifically anything related to nutrition and cancer, let me know if you've heard of anything good by posting a comment, thanks!

Relay for Life fundraising is going extremely well, we've surpassed our $10,000 goal, and since there are still 2+ weeks remaining, the Pikes haved raised the goal to $15,000!! It's pretty amazing the amount of good that this money can do, and how well everyone is pulling together to help. I hope everyone can make it out on Apr. 27-28 for the event to celebrate.

Hey Jeff-

I don't have a good comment on nutritional readings, but as for your cooking, you HAVE to try these recipes: theppk.com/recipes/
