It's been about a month of California-esque weather around here until yesterday when Mother Nature realized it's January and shut off the heat. Finally the mercury plummeted to about 20' and today we got a little snow, only a dusting, but at least it feels a bit more like winter. I suppose a normal person wouldn't be too excited about this, but when your stuck inside a hospital, or at home on your couch for most of the day it's kind of nice when the weather is crappy.

Anyways, I'm about 10 days outside of my last chemo treatment and I'm feeling pretty good. I seem to have tolerated it ok, and have been focusing on not getting another infection, since around this time my white-blood-cell counts drop pretty low. As they start to climb I've been instructed how to give myself an injection of a drug that boosts WBC production, and for the past two days I've gone into the hospital to have them 'harvested'. This diagram pretty much tells the story. You sit in that comforable chair for about 4 hours while they take blood from one arm, filter out the WBC's in a centrifuge, then pour the remaining blood back in the other arm. It's a cool process, but is painstakingly boring, not too mention the fact that I'm not allowed to move my arms. Afterwards they store the WBC's which will be given back to me after the chemo is completed. Hopefully I have only 1 more day of this.
Otherwise I'm trying to stay rested, on the off days I've been messing around in the city, and catching up with friends. I hope everyone is doing well and staying warm!
