Escape from Alcatraz

It's been a week since treatment # 9, and I'm finally feeling a little better. This past week was pretty awful health-wise, struggling with nausea and fatigue mostly. The good news is that I'm feeling much better this weekend. My parents are probably the most thankful for this, since they bear the brunt of my horrible mood all week! Sorry!

Anyways, I haven't been up to all that much, work during the week, and resting on the nights/weekends. Work is going well, and is pretty flexible as far as hours (and effort), so that has been great.

The highlight of my week was heading down to SFO this morning and watching the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon. Its one of the largest non-Ironman races in the US, and there were about 100 pro racers there. It consisted of an 1.5 mile swim from a ferry pictured just to the right of the island into the beach. The water looks warm, but is mid-50's.

Then a sweet 18 mile ride and 8 mile run through San Francisco and Golden Gate Park. This pic is the winner, he absolutely smoked the bike, launching from 6th after the swim to a 2 minute lead. It was pretty impressive.

The Finish!
