Hey All,
Thanks for all the great notes, and support msgs, I appreciate everything you guys are doing for me!
Monday was my first Chemotherapy treatment. I checked into the Cancer Center, and had some routine bloodwork after setting up the IV through my brand new Port.
After a long waiting period where they checked, and re-checked my dosages I finally got started. They began with several "pre-meds", which are basically anti-nausea medications.
After those settled they began my 4 chemo drugs. Three of the four were hooked up to the IV, and were pushed into me via the largest needles I've ever seen (think 10oz. waterbottle). The last was dripped through the standard IV bag.
Last night and today were relatively pain free. The best way to describe how I feel is hung-over. I've got a decent headache, zero-appetite, and a general feeling of being disconnected. Everything is a little fuzzy when you're this drugged up I guess.
Anyways, I got out for a walk, and stopped into the office, with no problems, so that was good. The rest of the week will call for plenty of rest, fluids, and hopefully some food.
Thanks again for everyone's support, love all you guys,
-Jeff
PS. For those hardcore friends who mentioned wanting to shave their heads, I think I'm gonna do it sometime early next week, I don't condone or encourge this by the way, but it sure would be cool.
